Life Lately:
I'm still on my book requesting freeze, so I managed to avoid all of the pretty new books for another week.  I'm trying really hard to keep up with all of my ARCs but I'm struggling! lol.  I really did go overboard with requesting for a while there.  I've also been trying really hard to squeeze in some books from my backlist.  I really want to start working some of the books I bought over the past month or so into my reading schedule.  Some times I kind of just want to say screw it, and just read whatever I want, when I want. lol!

Last week I said I was going to have a "10 Series I Still Need To Finish" post but completely forgot to schedule it.  I had it written but I guess it wasn't scheduled because it was in my "Drafts".  Oops!  So I will have it this coming week!  This coming week is also another art post week!  I will be posting my Wolverine painting.  I've also have a Wonder Woman painting in the works right now.  I'm slowly chipping away at it, and I'm planning to post it next month.  I've been posting progress photos of my painting on Instagram if you are curious! lol

I've fallen a little behind this week with visiting other blogs, but I'm going to try to catch up this weekend.  Between the new painting, summer plans, and the kiddo  it was really hard to find time.  I will try to be better this coming week.  I have caught up a little bit more with scheduling posts in advance so I think that will free up a lot of my time.

  1. A couple of books I've bought this week are yelling 'READ ME!!!' but I'm trying to ignore to give a few books I've had lurking on my shelves a chance to be read! Next month I feel I need a series read month to try and finish a few of the shorter ones but I have all these new authors I want to try! #bookyproblems

    1. lol! I know what you mean. I have so many books sitting on my shelves begging for some attention. I really should dedicate a whole month to backlist books, but I can't say no to the ARCs. Books are my weakness. lol.

  2. Wow so good with no books!! I have been better. I still have so many ARCs it's scary! Yes I have found the summer to be busy and hard to keep up with it all but you know what it's ok! Hope you have a great week!

  3. I have to do what you did and go on a request/book-freeze because I keep getting approved for too many and I know it's going to bite me in the butt! I totally feel you about wanting to just read whatever you want. I honestly can't do it any other way because being on a schedule just stresses me out. I do keep in mind what books are coming out which month, so I don't totally ignore those arc release dates though.
Anyways, I hope you have a good weekend and take care! :)

    1. It's so hard to say no to all of the pretty new books! lol! I ended up with way too many ARCs so I definitely have some catching up to do. I also own a lot of really great books that I've had to keep pushing aside for the advance copies (totally my fault because I requested WAY too many). Hope you have a great weekend too! Happy reading!

  4. Wow, go you for being so resilient in not buying/requesting! I wish I could be that good lol My library keeps getting in all the new releases and even though I keep telling myself not to request them I still do. The Bakersville Dozen looks really good so I'm curious to see if you like it! I hope you have a great week, Julie! :)

    1. Glad to hear that you've been able to keep on top of things. I feel like I go through phases. Sometimes, I'm really ahead with everything and then others I feel like I'm buried under ARCs. lol

Thanks so much! I'm excited for people to see more of my art!

Thanks, Lauren! Hope you have a great week!

I would like to stick to the freeze for another couple weeks but we'll see if that actually happens. lol My husband is taking our daughter out for a daddy/daughter date day later today so I get some free time to work on my painting. I'm really excited about how the Wonder Woman is coming along so far. Hope you have a great week too!

    1. Thanks so much, Alyssa! I'm trying so hard to stick to the freeze, but I want all of the books!!! lol! I would like to stick to it for another couple weeks but I doubt that is going to happen. lol My head was achy yesterday but it never turned into a full migraine, so that's good. I'm still holding out hope that the piercing is helping. lol

Hope you are having a great weekend too!

  10. It's actually awesome. You did what I tthink impossible--not requesting or buying new books. I did try several times to focus on my old purchased books without any success. That's why I'm so proud of you. Don't beat yourself when you feel like wanting to buy/request a new one because you love the author or the sound of it, though. Do what you love and enjoy to do. :)

    Have a wonderful week. :)

Hope you have a great week too!

    1. My feedback ratio on NetGalley is at 77% right now. I really want to get it up higher soon. I have so many older titles on there that I need to go back thru

  13. So, maybe I requested like 6 books this week, because you requested none? 😝 I just got my NG ratio back up over 80%, so why not? It's EW I need to work on. I just did series I need to finish. Can't wait to see your list.

    1. haha! My NG ratio is at 77% right now. I've been fighting to get it higher, but every time I get close to 80% again, I request a ton of books. lol. I don't get too many books on EW. I mostly use NG. Thanks, Sam!

  14. I hear you on the reading, I'm totally a mood reader so if I had a ton of ARC's I HAD to get through I'd probably rebel lol.

Yay for Wolverine! Can't wait to see it.

  18. Wow! Well done on the book freeze! You're doing so amazing! I'm swamped still as well. I had EIGHT people come to stay with me last week so I didn't get ANYTHING done. I didn't even get to read so I didn't do a roundup or anything this week.

I can't wait to see Wolverine and I've loved seeing the WonderWoman progress pics. It's looking amazing!

So glad you've been enjoying my progress pics for Wonder Woman. Can't wait to see what you think about my Wolverine painting!

  20. Good for you putting a "stop!" to those book requests. I'm better than I once was, but I still request more than I probably *should*. Still, so long as there is improvement, that's progress. :)
